The registry manager is under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) obligated to inform the registered in clear words how their data is used. This Privacy Policy fulfils the principle of transparency.
PURPOSE OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
To handle legal assignments and to fulfil related statutory obligations. With the data subject’s consent, their contact details may also be used for marketing purposes.
LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING
The legal basis for processing consists of the legal services agreement, statutory obligations related to the practice of law, and the consent provided by the data subject. Consent may be withdrawn at any time, after which the data will no longer be used for marketing.
RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal data is primarily used internally within the firm. If required by the nature of the assignment, personal data may be disclosed to the opposing party, a court, or another authority. Personal data will not be transferred to third countries or international organisations.
RETENTION PERIOD OF PERSONAL DATA
Personal data is retained for the duration of the assignment, but in any case for a minimum of 10 years. Information necessary for assessing conflicts of interest is retained permanently.
RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT
The data subject has the right to access their personal data and to request the rectification or erasure of such data when there is no longer a justified reason for its processing. Under certain circumstances, the data subject may also request the restriction of processing or object to the processing of their data. Notwithstanding the above, data may still be processed to fulfil statutory obligations. The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman if they consider that the processing of their personal data violates data protection legislation.
FAILURE TO PROVIDE PERSONAL DATA
Personal data is required for the handling of a legal assignment in accordance with the regulations governing attorneys. An assignment cannot be accepted, or may need to be discontinued, if sufficient personal data is not provided or if the processing of such data is restricted or objected to in a way that prevents the assignment from being carried out.
AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING
Personal data is not used for profiling or any other form of automated decision-making.
